Simon Hendry is the owner of and trainer at H Equestrian, a brand new yard in Glenferness, boasting superb facilities conveniently located near the main show venues. He has been riding since the age of 8, and jumping at the top level for well over 15 years. At this level, Simon has won many of the major classes, and is regularly in the placings with young horses and experienced horses alike. He specialises in bringing young horses and riders up from basics, and strives to build their confidence and develop their ability as best possible. His aim always being to encourage the love and respect for the horse, whilst enjoying this wonderful sport. A great advantage to his riding and training is that he regularly travels abroad, to ride and train with the best in the world, the most recent being with George Morris and Chris Kappler in Florida, USA. How one presents oneself is ultimately part of the bigger picture. Being part of the Tack ‘n Togs and Erreplus brands significantly promotes and supports that sentiment, and it is a privilege to be part of the team. Not only is the equipment stylish, it is also of great quality and enables the horses and riders to perform at their best. Riding Simon Burn’s magnificent and super talented Erreplus Casper (jumping his first 1.50m Grand Prix recently), as well as the superb Erreplus Lindor (now in the 1.35m) is a great source of pride. The future with these two young horses is truly exciting. Principal Legionnaire (owned by Franlaren Stud) has been a faithful and brave competitor in the 1.50m classes for a number of years, winning World Cup Qualifiers and Grand Prix’s, and is also competing in a Erreplus JF. My own horse, French Diamond HPE is a tremendous up an coming young stallion imported from Holland, by Diamant de Semilly. Soon to start his career in the open classes, he too is an exciting prospect for the future. My spare time is spent with my family, my two little boys (Matthew and Ewan), and my wife Tanya. I enjoy traveling, cooking, mountain bikes, and boxing.
