Eggbutt Gag 5.5" Jointed Happy Mouth EGGBUTT GAG An EGGBUTT GAG is effective with some horses, encouraging to raise the head and flex. The gag ring has two holes : one on the top and one on the bottom, through which the rounded leather cheeks pass. The top end is attached to the bridle and the other end to the rein. When the rein pressure is applied, the bit slides upward and tilts slightly in the mouth, giving pressure on both the poll and the corner of mouth at the same time. It gives a horse leverage and works to elevate a horse. Useful bit for a strong horse who tends to lean on bit or in need of retraining.
