Amy Hay
I am an 18 year old show jumper from Zimbabwe! In 2011 when my brother was diagnosed with cancer, our family had to move to South Africa. My mum wanted me to do something fun that would distract me, and so I started riding. I haven’t stopped since!!
I’ve been trained by Charley Crockart for almost 11 years. She’s taught me everything I know & is definitely someone I look up to! I currently have 5 horses, Capital Lincoln, Rivens Whirlwind & Cortina RLH who are all in Johannesburg, as well as Othello Van Het Keizershof & Belle Amie who are in the Netherlands!
A few of my most memorable moments in show jumping so far have been:
Winning Whirly's and my first ever 1.35m championship.
Qualifying for the World Jumping Challenge Finals.
Winning the 2021 Open SA Junior Championship.
Representing Zimbabwe in the 2022 Youth Equestrian Games held in Aachen.
I would like to spend some more time in Europe, getting as much exposure and experience as possible. I want to learn as much as I can from as many people as I can to be the best I can. You can never learn enough!! My big goal is to one day represent my country on the world stage & to be top in the world! I’m very excited for this year & even more excited to be doing it alongside Tack ‘N Togs!!🧡
